Juba — The unity state government yesterday subjected over 300 workers to investigation in what is attributed to their names appearing twice in the finance payroll.
Gideon Gatpat, the state spokesperson revealed this to the Citizen newspaper over phone in the state capital Bentiu. Gatpat said the state council of ministers discussed the decision and resolved to gives the directives to the ministry of finance and Public services to screen out those names which appear twice."This is to avoid recurring workers in the payroll", state Gideon.
Spokesperson said the electronic payroll introduce in the state indicated to them there were doubles names of civil servants in various ministries."They get double employment", he added.The minister further said their document, time of employment and qualification are being cross check by the state ministry of Public services."The minister of public services call them today (Monday) at the ministry of public services to cross check their names," he maintain adding that the process will continue.
According to him, the council gave both ministry of finance and public services tasked to scrutinized the document and qualification of those alleged to be Goss workers.He however said, the exercise crossing checking the repeated names in the payroll will extend to the organized forces in the state.The state spokesperson added that process screening civil servants was to put professions and qualified staff to the right theirs position in the state.
